Second job DONE!

I am so happy with how the long arm sewing machine is working right now. For the first time I made it through an entire quilt without the thread breaking!! That is HUGE! I finished a double sized quilt in 2 hours which felt like record time! It is really fun to have two jobs I was hired to do completed. Now if I can just scrounge up some more work! ;)

Thank you IKEA!

I made my sewing space a fun, usable space with three new tables, two new storage cabinets and lots of new baskets for organizing fabric and projects. I was so excited about the update that I started and finished two baby quilt tops this weekend! I am hoping to complete the top stitching for the second quilt from a friend this week as well as start my next Holiday table runners! I wish I could afford a babysitter one day a week so I could sew for 8 hours!

My first job completed!

I was hired by a friend to quilt a top she'd pieced togethor and I finished it the other night. It took a little longer than I'd wanted because my 1 year old daughter kept throwing up in the evenings when I would try and sew! She is doing much better now, thankfully, and my friend was happy with the finished product. I am so excited to have finished a job! Now I have two more to do before Christmas...wish me luck!

I am finally getting the photo's online of my friend'squilts. I completed two of them for her just in time for Christmas. She did a great job on the tops!

Tis the season for sewing!!

I am so excited! I have been cutting out fabric like crazy lately. I have two baby blankets and one queen size quilt cut out and ready to sew! The queen size quilt is for the JoAnn Fabric stores quilt contest. We'll see if I get it done by the January deadline! I have 2/3 of another queen size quilt cut out and my mother in law's quilt to get on the frame and quilted for her. The kid's nap times are going to be busy ones for me!

I absolutely love this pattern for a baby blanket! A baby will love looking at all the different fabric designs and colors! This has been the year for babies among my friends so I have been very busy getting these done! These finished quilts are approx. 36 inches square and the backing is flannel.

Red, Black and White

I really liked how this one turned out. I did the final quilting myself, it's the second one ever on the quilting frame! I like the border on the back...it makes a lap quilt a little more fancy! :)

First Baby Quilt!

This is the first quilt that I did the final quilting myself! It was a lot of fun and not as difficult as I thought it would be. I thought the different boy flannels made a busy fun quilt for a baby to look at!

Table Runners

Christmas Table Runner/Wall Hanging
This is the first quilt where I did the quilting on my own machine!

Fall Table Runner/Wall Hanging
This is the first quilting I did following a stenciled pattern!

The one that started it all!

Here is the first quilt that inspired my new addiction! I saw this one at a quilt show and the colors reminded me of my mother in law Tami. My mom has been quilting for years and I never thought it was something for me. Boy was I wrong! I had a lot of fun piecing this quilt togethor and sending it to Tami. My mom quilted the finished product and embroidered a label on the back for me.
